IBM intend to buy Sun Microsystems

IBM intend to buy Sun Microsystems, informs The Wall Street Journal referring to the information received from own sources in these companies. IBM calculates that this transaction will allow to increase its share in the market of servers. According to The Wall Street Journal, IBM has offered about 6,5 billion dollars for Sun Microsystems. It approximately twice more than cost of Sun Microsystems market. Negotiations between Sun Microsystems and IBM have started recently and while are far from end. Analysts do not eliminate that the transaction will not take place. According to company IDC, IBM inspects 31,4 percent of the market of servers. Companies HP and Dell occupy 29,5 and 11,6 percent of this market accordingly. Share Sun Microsystems in the server market makes 10,6 percent. It is not eliminated that between Sun Microsystems and IBMs can prevent the transaction regulators. Both companies dominate in the market of Unix-servers. Besides, for Sun Microsystems and IBM is some the same products in segments of the software and data storage systems.
