Developers of a platform also have added other demanded function - reception and sending MMS. iPhone OS 3.0 now allows to write vocal notices. Possibility of sending with the letter at once several photos, instead of one, as is added earlier. The landscape mode of mapping of texts and a set of messages works now in all key standard applications iPhone. Besides, there was a possibility of search in all delivered with iPhone applications, and not just in contacts. Phones with iPhone OS 3.0 will support functions of synchronisation of notices, autofillings of forms, automatic connection to networks Wi-Fi and will possess protection from phishing. According to Apple, in 2008 in the world it has been sold 13,7 million iPhone 3G that considerably exceeds an object in view in 10 million devices. In total it has been sold 17 million devices, and together with the first iPhone and iPod Touch - 30 million devices.

Nokia to cut 1700 jobs worldwide

The Finnish corporation Nokia, the world's largest manufacturer of mobile phones, has declared abbreviation of 1700 persons worldwide within the limits of the program on lowering of expenditures in crisis. About it it is told in the official press release published on a site of the company. Dismissals will concern employees of departments of marketing, sales, and also technologies, marks MarketWatch. Reductions of the staff should help to the company to lower negative effect from falling of demand for mobile phones. On the end of 2007 in corporation worked 122 thousand persons. Earlier it was informed that since March, 1st, 2009 in Nokia implementation of the program of voluntary retirement will start. It will be completed or on May, 31st, or with dismissal of the thousand employee at own will. In the end of January, 2009 Nokia has reported about net profit lowering in the fourth quarter 2008 on 60 percent - to 576 million euro. As the reason the world financial crisis which has lowered demand for many goods, including mobile phones has served.
