New Intel chipset for Atom processors cannot work with Blu-ray

The new Intel GN40 chipset intended for use with processor Atom, will not support HD-video which have been written down on disks Blu-ray, informs Fudzilla referring to the statement of representatives Intel. In Intel underline that the chipset can work as video of a high definition with the permission 1080р. However it concerns, for example, translations on the Internet, but not to films on disks Blu-ray. The matter is that for playing of the last it is required more resources. Earlier representatives Intel declared that GN40 will allow to work from HD-video. However they did not specify, about what video of the permission there is a speech, also was not informed and on, whether can GN40 work with disks Blu-ray. One of the basic competitors GN40 is platform Nvidia Ion. According to Nvidia, it supports as reproduction of video of a high definition with the permission 1080р, and disks Blu-ray.

Asus has made the keyboard- computer

Asus company showed the device Eee Keyboard at CeBIT 2009. It is a computer made in the form of a keyboard. That was reported by Engadget.

Outside the Asus Eee Keyboard looks like a full-size keyboard with 5" touch screen. Also Eee Keyboard connectors have HDMI, VGA and Ethernet.

Inside the Asus Eee Keyboard a processor Intel Atom N270 or N330, as well as 16 - or 32-gigabaytny SSD-drive, depending on the configuration of your device. The amount of RAM Eee Keyboard - one gigabyte.

In addition to the port Ethernet, to connect the Eee Keyboard to the Internet, you can use the built module Wi-Fi. Also in this device is installed module Bluetooth.

As an operating system on the Eee Keyboard preinstalled Windows XP. Weight of the machine is 0.95 kg. It is anticipated that the Eee Keyboard can be purchased in the mid-2009 at a cost of 400 or 600 dollars, depending on configuration.

New Intel Power Platform


Power Platform for Intel Atom processors for the new generation will be twice lower than chipset working with the first generation of these processors, reports Fudzilla.
Platform for Intel to work with the second generation of Atom will be called Pine Trail-D. In addition to the low power consumption, it will hold 70 per cent less area than a platform that works with the current generation processor Atom.

The code name of Intel Atom processors of second-generation - Pineview. These chips will include a memory controller and graphics core. Pineview will be issued on 45-nanometer production methods in single-and dual-core versions.

Date of announcement Pineview processors will not be disclosed. We know only that the dual-core chip of this series, designed for installation in desktop computers, appear in the fourth quarter of 2009.
